HEALTHCARE LEADERS URGE CONGRESS TO EXTEND MEDICARE’S INCENTIVE FOR VALUE-BASED CARE
Call comes as Reps. LaHood (R-Ill.), DelBene (D-Wash.), Dunn (R-Fla.), and Schrier (D-Wash.) introduce the Preserving Patient Access to Accountable Care Act
“Continuing the incentives for physicians and other clinicians to participate in advanced alternative payment models (APMs) is critical to sustaining and advancing Medicare’s transition to value-based care. Setting the incentives at 3.5% for those who participate in qualifying models in 2025 will demonstrate the importance that Congress places on this work. We urge Congress to extend these incentives soon to give APM participants clear signals for this year. Congress should then turn to making broader reforms that would provide sustainable, predictable revenue streams for clinicians, and that would support their ability to participate in APMs and create the capacities to provide higher-quality, lower-cost care.”
